Benefits of Scooter Ownership

Sun Tint ScootersOur 50cc models are great for around town and surface streets, while the 150cc models are optimal where more torque and higher speeds are required, such as large hills or highway travel. If you are looking to travel on the freeway, you will need to step up to the 250cc model, which has a top speed of 65+ MPH.

Some of the benefits of riding a scooter are the great gas mileage, and low maintenance costs, as well as the low insurance rates. The affordable price of a scooter also allows you to purchase a brand new vehicle for a low cost, instead of a used vehicle which may be more expensive and unreliable. A scooter is a fraction of the priced of a hybrid, and in many cases can get more than double the gas mileage. Use less gas and reduce your carbon footprint - Go Green!

Sun Tint ScootersScooters are fun and easy to ride. If you can ride a bicycle, you can ride a scooter! All of our scooters are fully automatic and require no shifting. Lane sharing is legal in California allowing you to go between stopped lanes of traffic at lights and get to the front of the line.

Licensing Requirements

A motorcycle permit can be acquired at the DMV by paying a small fee and passing a written exam. You can then take the driving test at your convenience to get your motorcycle license. With a permit you are limited to daytime driving, no passengers, and no freeway driving (an engine size of at least 250cc is required for all freeway driving.)

There are courses available which allow you to get your license after passing the approved class (usually 2-3 days). These classes teach motorcycle rules and safety and are recommended to learn how to properly operate a motorcycle or scooter.
